A portable oxygen concentrator is a device that separates oxygen from air, allowing you to breathe oxygen on demand. Portable oxygen concentrators operate on alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC), and both power sources are rechargeable. The battery powers the device by drawing in air, separating oxygen from the air, and delivering it back into your lungs at a rate convenient to you. Some portable oxygen concentrators offer both continuous and pulsed oxygen delivery.
A home oxygen concentrator is a device that converts air into oxygen, making your breathing easier. It operates on alternating current (AC) and is available only in home or stationary models. The oxygen concentrator draws in air through an air inlet, where it first passes through a filter to remove dust and other fine impurities before entering the oxygen separation system. Finally, the oxygen is delivered in an appropriate dose through a nasal cannula.
Portable devices: Small, lightweight and battery powered, ideal for travel.
Stationary units: Larger, with a higher oxygen flow, recommended for long-term use at home.
Pulsed Oxygen Delivery: Automatically detects your breathing and delivers oxygen as you inhale and stops as you exhale.
Continuous Oxygen Delivery: Delivers oxygen continuously, regardless of whether you inhale or exhale.
Pulsed oxygen delivery is mainly used in portable devices to extend the operating time.
Oxygen concentrators can be divided into two categories based on the oxygen flow: health promotion and treatment of disease.
Oxygen concentrators with a capacity of 1-3 liters are suitable for healthcare: they can be used by pregnant women, the elderly, students, office workers and other people with mental stress; they are suitable for daily oxygen therapy.
Oxygen concentrators with a capacity of more than 3 liters are suitable for treating a variety of conditions: they are suitable for patients with chronic conditions (hypertension, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease, obesity, etc.), respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and cardiopulmonary dysfunction. They are also suitable for home oxygen therapy.
In general, most oxygen concentrators have a noise level between 30 and 60 decibels. This is equivalent to the volume of a soft conversation or whisper. The VARON VP-01 was tested and found to produce less than 58 decibels. The VARON VL-02 was tested and found to produce less than 45 decibels.
Standard shipping normally takes 3-5 days. Next day shipping is available on all domestic orders (for an additional charge). International shipping times depend on the products and destination (estimated at checkout).
